During a commenting bootcamp I came across this blog: https://georgiemoon2016.wordpress.com (check it out) and there was post about a door by the lovely Georgina Moon that I challenged – “What’s with the fascination of the door?”
She said it was part of a Thursday photo challenge and I was intrigued to try it out myself, so here’s the door I decided to write about (even though it’s not a Thursday) but please enjoy this random tale…
Last summer I went abroad
And I have to give thanks to the Lord
That I made it there safely
Walked through that door bravely
And said, “Why didn’t you applaud!?”
*
I know what you’re thinking: ‘She’s conceited
And she better not have succeeded
In getting people to clap
What she needs is a slap
Walking through a door! – That’s easily repeated!’
*
But it’s very important that I mention
I needed 100% concentration
I had 2 suitcases and a hat
I was wearing heels! On top of that
No one else seemed to pay attention
*
To the thing that made my heartbeat quicken
I was ready to throw the brick in!
Looking back it was quite pretty
But you wouldn’t see this in the city:
There was a loud running clucking chicken!
Well done! Great door and fabulous poem. I would never be able to write anything like that. Keep up the good work. And thanks for the mention!
